Ham of the Year 2019. Presented by Bill K7MT, right. Looking on is John KS7R, left.

A relatively new ham, Marla is the author of the CCARC Shack Tour website. She earned her Technician license in February 2017, and the General in February 2018. She is the proud owner of a Yaesu FT-60 handheld transceiver, a TYT dualband analog/DMR, a Kenwood TS 570s, and an Icom IC-V8000. The last two were given to her by CCARC members. Her Elmer and other club teachers and friends continue to help and encourage her.

Here's her radio story as told to Ray and DeLona Zinn:

Interviewing members for this website has truly been a learning experience for Marla, and as one ham remarked to her, the camaraderie among hams, the social aspect of amateur radio, contributes greatly to this hobby.

Although interviewees contribute the content, unless otherwise noted, text and photos are by Marla.
